Synagogue of «tailors» – one of the oldest, symbolic buildings of the city, opened in 1888. The synagogue completely conveys the atmosphere of Jewish culture.
Until recently, it was the only one in Zaporizhzhia, and in Oleksandrivsk officially did not even wear such a status – it housed just a Jewish prayer house. Although in the people it was still called the «tailor synagogue» (or «synagogue of artisans»), according to the guild of most of its visitors. Now it is a functioning synagogue on Turgeneva Street, 22. After restructuring, in 1991 the building was returned to the Jewish community. After repairs in 1995, the first solemn prayer was read in the Synagogue.
