0 9 0

It is located in the region of Upper Khortytsia. Since 1972 – a protected object. Since 2010 – the National Tree of Ukraine. In 2010, Zaporizhzhia's Oak won in the nomination of «Historical Tree of Ukraine» contest, conducted by the Ministry of Environmental Protection. The oak had circumvented the 1,000-year-old Josefin oak (Rivne region) and the 600-year-old golden linden (Ternopil region), under which in the 17th century an agreement between the Poles and the Turks was signed, ended in a bloodshed in western Ukraine. On August 24, 2001, near the oak tree, the historical and cultural complex «700-year-old Zaporizhzhia oak» opened. Since 2009, the historical and cultural complex is under the patronage of the All-Ukrainian Federation «Spas». On the territory of the complex is built a chapel of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, there is a theater of the Cossack battle «Zaporizʹkyy Spas», a cafe-restaurant «At the Oak». Theatrical performances with elements of the Cossack martial art «Spas» are performed there for adults and children.
